What are the general causes for the death of a person after blood vomiting through nose, mouth and foaming?

Whether it could be a mive cardiac failure. But the patient who is my brother, had been complaining, frequent sweating and tiredness for a week before his death. Or whether it could be lever or kidney failure. Kindly explain.
