Someone asked this question about a year ago, but I'll ask it again: What is up with Patrick Elias?

Right now the Devils are in in the playoffs; this is great; however, I cring everytime the Devils go on a powerplay because I know Elias will be on the ice, and he will inevitably turn the puck over; sometimes, like last night, the opposing team gets a short-handed goal. Now, let's say, let's hope, the Devils go to the Stanley Cup. Hopefully we will have time to celebrate a victory, but that celebration will be short lived because then we will have to watch the team lose Gomez to free agency because Patrick Elias, one of the highest paid players, is not producing but we can't pay Gomez enough to make him stay. What can we do? Am I the only one who is completely disappointed with Patrick Elias?
